【摘要】:Waxcoatingsareappliedtocorrugatedboardtoprovideabarrieragainstmoistureorotherpenetrantsortoprovideimprovedappearanceorabrasionresistance.Thesefunctionalpropertiesareinfluencedbytheamountofwaxpresentonthesurface.Duringcurtaincoatingoperations,majorportionsofthewaxwillcongealonthesurface,whileaminorportionwillpenetrateandbecomeembeddedinthefibersofthefacing.Thismethodmeasuresthetotalweightofwaxappliedtotheboard.TheamountactuallyremainingonthesurfaceofthecorrugatedboardcanbedeterminedbyTestMethodD3521.Theuniformityofapplicationofwaxfilmacrossthewidthofthecurtaincoatermayalsobedeterminedusingthistechniquebypassingtestcombinations(blanks)underthecurtainatvariouslocations,thatis,leftside,center,rightside.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheweightofhotmeltcoatingappliedtocorrugatedboardbycurtaincoating.Itisintendedtobeusedforroutineprocesscontrolintheplant.Note18212;Relatedmethodsfordeterminingtheweightofwaxcoatingincludethefollowing:TestMethodD3521;TestMethodD3522,andTestMethodD3344.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
