【摘要】:Theinstrumentmaybeusedonavarietyofgeometriesofaluminumalloytestpieces,providingthesurfacebeingtestedhaspropersupportfortheinstrument.Thistestmethodisintendedforqualityassuranceandproductioncontrolpurposes.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtobeanindependentmaterial-acceptancetest.Thethicknessofthetestpieceshallbesuchthatamarkorbulgeisnotproducedonthereversesideofthetestpieceandthetestpiecedoesnotdeflectduringthetest.Calibrationoftheinstrumentthroughtheuseofreferenceblocksisrequiredfortruecomparativehardnessvalues.1.1ThistestmethodcoversindentationhardnesstestingofaluminumalloysusingaNewage,portable,non-caliper-type,hardnessinstrumentwhichprovidesreadoutvaluesnumericallyequivalenttoRockwellB-scaleasdeterminedbyTestMethodsE18.Note1ThisisacomparativeRockwellBtestanddoesnotprovideanactualRockwellBtestvalue.HRBN,thevaluesobtainedfromtheNewageinstrument,arenumericallyequivalenttoRockwellBvalues,butdonotrepresentanactualRockwellBtestinaccordancewithTestMethodsE18.1.2Thistestmethodmeasuresindentationhardnessofheat-treatablealuminumalloyshavingahardnessfrom30to100HRBN,athicknessgreaterthan1.50mm(0.060in.),andpiecestoolargetobetestedbyacalipertypeinstrument.Note2Thistestmethodcoverstwoinstruments(oneanalogandonedigital)whichoperatedifferently.Refertothemanufacturer''sinstructionforproperoperation.1.3Theflatsurfacesizeoftheareabeingtestedmustbecompatiblewiththeinstrumentsupportareaandthematerialmustnotdeflectduringthetest.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsarethestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
